NONINSURED CROP ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM (NAP) APPLICATION CLOSING DATE
Noninsured Assistance Program
(NAP) provides financial assistance to
eligible producers affected by natural
disasters. To be eligible you must file
form CCC-471 with the Jackson County FSA
Office and pay the applicable service by
the application closing date.
Sept. 1, 2008 closing date for
the following: Christmas Trees;
Crustaceans; Finfish; Grass-Sod; Nursery
Sept. 30, 2008 closing date for
the following: Barley-GR; Rye; Wheat.
PORTRAIT
FUNDRAISER
The Pond Creek Volunteer Fire
Department host a portrait fundraiser.
Anyone who donates $20 or more will
receive an 8x10 family portrait. The
pictures will be taken September 20th and
21st at the Fire Department. Thank you
for your continued support.
DEADLINE NEARING
The deadline to register to run
for School Board Member, District 1, 2 and
5 and City Council is August 12th at 4:00
pm.
TENT REVIVAL
There will be a tent revival at
Gray Hawk Park beginning on August 11th
starting at 7 pm. Everyone welcome.
HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE
There will be a hunter
education course at Pond Fork Lodge in
Annville, Ky on August 21st 6-9 pm, August
22nd 6-9 pm and August 23rd 9 am-1pm. For

ROAD BLOCK
There will be a road block on
Saturday, August 9th at the traffic light
in McKee from 9 am to 1 pm. Proceeds will
go to JoAnn Hays who lost her home to
fire. All donations greatly appreciated.

from 10 am - Noon.
GOSPEL SINGING
The Indian Creek Baptist Church
will be having a gospel singing on
Saturday, August 9th, 2008 beginning at
6:00 pm.
The singing group "Shepherds'
Voices" from Lexington, KY features Mike
Moberly (grandson of the late Mollie &
Grover Brewer of Indian Creek).
Please join us and welcome one
of our own. Refreshments will follow the
singing. Pastor Clyde Eversole and the
church welcomes everyone.
INTERNATIONAL DINNER
Come learn about another
country! The Jackson County
Homemakers will be hosting their annual
International Dinner on Thursday, August
7, 6 pm at the Jackson County Extension
Office. This year we are exploring
India! Sean Madden, local
missionary, will be there talking about
the Indian culture and his experiences
helping the people in India and
Napal. The Homemakers will be
preparing authentic Indian dishes to share
with the public. This is a free
event and everyone is invited. For
